Microchip I.D.
| | Microchipping is the safest, most effective method for identifying your pet, so that it can be returned if lost. A microchip is a tiny computer chip programmed with a unique identification number. It is small enough to fit into a hypodermic needle and be injected painlessly under your pet's skin.
Your contact information is registered with your pet's ID number, so you can be contacted if your lost pet is found. Most veterinarians and animal shelters have scanners that read the microchip number and identify the owner. We use the HomeAgain® microchip system. This identification cannot be lost, altered or intentionally removed, and it is guaranteed for the life of the animal. It requires no care or maintenance, and your pet does not feel it once it is in place. | Microchip is the size of a grain of rice (12-14mm) |
| | Although most often used with dogs and cats, the HomeAgain Micro-Chip I.D. can be used to identify a wide variety of pets. For more information, visit the HomeAgain Micro-Chip I.D. website, or call (559) 434-5470 to discuss your pet's safety with NorthPointe Animal Hospital, your caring Fresno animal hospital. | |
